Ok this is on of my Contest Entries to s "Hidden Scenes - Betrothed" CONTEST!: [link]

A Contest based off of her fan Comic's Time jumps:

This image took ALLOT of work and time to do like a week from sketching, to inking, to coloring, to piecing together, to background making, to computer editing, and to shading and ECT.....

please look at ALL the detail i put into this image ^^

i notice no one really did one about Mohatu's death.... so i did it ^^

but i must say this was WELL worth the work ^^ i hope you like it

IN THIS PICTURE

A few months after Uru and Ahadi's wedding, Mohatu was enjoying a peaceful day in the pride lands, his loving mate, and queen Kanene by his side. Everything was going fine, they couldn't ask for a more beautiful day. As they continued to walk along, Mohatu seemed to get very weak, and the old Lion had to stop and rest a bit. He sat and chuckled to his mate

" i'll be fine,.... just need to rest the old bones is all"

Not long after, Mohatu got his strength back, and they finished there walk, returning home. Later that night, Kanene was woke up by Mohatu wheezing in air, trembling all over his body, and unable to speak. The Old King had fallen ill suddenly over night. The pride quickly all woke and ran off bringing the medicine man Rafiki back with them, to help aid the old King. Rafiki sent the pride out of the den, all but Kanene, Uru, and Ahadi as the young ape sighed sadly, and looked to the three teary eyed pride members, shaking his head.

" The king will not make it,..... his age has caught up to him, and he soon will join the great kings in the sky.... Now. would be the time to say your last good-byes, before he is to weak to hear you."

Not long afterwards, in the middle of the next day the old,wise, gentle king Mohatu had passed away ,while his mate Kanene laid by his side. The whole pride fell into deep sorrow, as they went out to a lush, grassy plain, and dug a grave for their departed king.

That night after Mohatu's body was buried, and Kanene placed a ring of African violets on Mohatu's grave. Rafiki began to chanted prayers, to great kings of the past to welcome Mohatu into their mighty kingdom, of the stars. As his grieving pride mourned, and remembered the good memories of the wise king. As suddenly a new bright star appeared in the sky. Like a sign that Mohatu was finally at peace, as the feeling of his spirit seemed to gaze down all around them.

One Circle of life has ended, making room for a new one to continue to grow.

R.I.P King Mohatu; may your claws stay sharp
